RedotPay vs Algeria's €750 Travel Allowance Card: 2026 Rules
Algeria's July 2026 travel-card instruction, €750 allowance and virtual-asset law: why RedotPay eligibility and bank authorization are separate checks.
Summary
Checked 2026-10-08
The reviewed sources do not establish RedotPay as a card for Algeria's €750 travel allowance. Bank of Algeria Instruction 07-2026 assigns the allowance to cards issued by authorized intermediary banks. Algeria's absence from RedotPay restriction lists is conditional provider evidence, not local legal permission. Check the bank route and Algeria's virtual-asset law before funding.
If you are comparing cards in Algiers, Oran or Constantine, start by identifying the money you want to spend: a bank-administered travel entitlement, a permitted foreign-currency balance, or virtual assets. A card logo and an app balance do not tell you which rules apply to that funding route.
What changed in Algeria’s travel-card rules in July 2026?
Instruction 07-2026, dated July 13 and effective July 19, replaces Instruction 05-2025. It specifies a bank-issued international card or dedicated allowance card for eligible resident nationals’ travel abroad. The following provisions are a source summary, not confirmation that your bank has issued a card to you.
| Provision | Instruction reference |
|---|---|
| Annual maximum: €750 equivalent for age 19+, or €300 for ages 12 to under 19, limited to two children per family | Article 2 |
| Eligible stay: at least seven days; Hajj travel excluded | Articles 2–3 |
| Named card issued by an authorized intermediary bank, linked to a foreign-currency account; a dinar account is also required | Articles 4–7 |
| Dinar countervalue and commission paid through a non-cash payment instrument at least seven working days before travel | Article 9 |
| Allowance use limited to operations abroad related to its travel purpose | Article 13 |
Ask your bank about current implementation, documents, fees and permitted transactions. This article does not calculate a guaranteed dinar price or promise card availability at a particular branch.
Can RedotPay replace the bank’s allowance card?
The sources reviewed here do not establish that it can. This is our editorial conclusion from the bank-issuer requirement and the separate provider rules. No reviewed document identifies RedotPay as an authorized intermediary bank for this entitlement.
An international payment-card brand is a network identifier; it does not, by itself, establish a bank’s authorization to administer the allowance. Ask the institution handling your entitlement for written confirmation of the issuer, account and permitted funding route. Do not transfer funds to a third party on the strength of a coupon page claiming a “travel-card solution.”
For an ordinary online purchase rather than travel, tell your bank the actual purpose. Do not assume a travel entitlement is a general budget for subscriptions, card issuance or crypto purchases.
Why RedotPay’s Algeria eligibility is a different question
On October 8, 2026, Algeria was absent from the four reviewed RedotPay lists: registration/KYC restrictions, location access, card issuance and physical delivery.
That observation leaves conditional provider eligibility. It does not promise KYC approval, a supported billing address, delivery, a lawful funding route or acceptance by your merchant. The registration page describes RedotPay as a stablecoin-based payment service; that makes the distinction between provider access and local virtual-asset rules material.
Use the existing RedotPay Algeria country guide for product setup context and registration and KYC facts for account checks. This article addresses the separate bank-allowance and funding decision.
What does Algeria’s virtual-asset law say?
The official Gazette of July 24, 2025, issue 48, publishes Law 25-10. Article 5 adds Article 6 bis to Law 05-01. On printed page 7, it prohibits issuing, buying, selling, using, holding, trading and promoting virtual assets in the specified payment/investment context, as well as exchange-platform and mining activities. This is a 2025 law reviewed in October 2026, not a newly announced October ban.
An app allowing registration or a merchant accepting a card does not create a legal exemption. Do not use a VPN, a false residence or someone else’s identity to evade an eligibility or funding restriction. Obtain advice from an Algerian-qualified professional about your specific activity before using a virtual-asset funding route. This guide does not certify a RedotPay transaction as lawful in Algeria.
Keep these decisions separate before paying
| Your question | Evidence to seek |
|---|---|
| Can I claim the travel allowance through this issuer? | Your authorized bank’s confirmation under the current instruction |
| Is my intended source of funds and use permitted? | Applicable local rules and qualified advice for the actual transaction |
| Will this account receive the card I want? | Account-specific app eligibility with your real details |
| Can a physical card reach my address? | Current delivery and address result, separate from issuance |
| Will my merchant accept the card? | The merchant’s own payment rules and the actual authorization result |
| What will I pay? | Issuance, funding, conversion, usage and merchant charges for the selected route |
If a required legal or provider condition is unresolved, stop before funding or paying a non-refundable order. For a payment already declined, use the Algeria card-decline checklist rather than treating every rejection as a coupon problem.
Where do card codes and the $5 reward fit?
Only after lawful use and account eligibility are established, consult the canonical card-code evidence and checkout steps: PAY8U leads eligible virtual checkout, with OFF20 then RED08 as alternatives; COUPO leads eligible physical checkout, with RED80 as its alternative. These are independent editorial recommendations. Verify the reduced total before paying; a code does not authorize a funding route.
Registration referral 3wiyh belongs only in the optional signup field. The separate $5 spending reward applies after activation, expires 30 days from receipt and cannot pay issuance. Compare Algeria card and usage fees and the standard fees owner before deciding. If a claimed discount does not change the total, follow the promo troubleshooting guide and stop before payment.
